The MSSA cross country team finished up the season last weekend at the ISAL district meet! The kids have continually improved week over week, and their hard work and dedication were evident at the district meet. Nearly every athlete ran a personal best time over the 2-mile course, and we even had a podium finish for Kate, who placed third among 7th and 8th-grade girls.
We had two athletes place in the top 10 in the 5th/6th-grade boys division, Tyler (5th place) and Dante (10th place). The 5th/6th-grade girls saw three athletes in the top 10: Lily (7th place), Isabella (8th place), and Danica (10th place). Our only 8th-grade participant was Landon (7th/8th-grade boys), who finished his MSSA XC career in 21st place with a great time. Our other athletes ran amazing races, and we are proud of the early mornings and hard work they put in. A special thanks to the parents, who raised great kids, is also in order. Coach Ceara and Coach John will be hosting an inclusive running club for MSSA students from grades 3rd – 8th that begins November 2 at 7 AM. The club will meet every Tuesday at 7 AM for five weeks. If you’d like to get more information or have any questions about enrolling your child in the running club, please reach out to Coach O for more info. Go Jags!
