For many students on the first and second-grade soccer team, this is their first time playing on a competitive team, while others have come to us with more experience. The range in skill sets means really finding the strengths each player brings to the team and putting each child in a position to give them room to grow as an athlete. Getting the students familiar with one another as teammates and laying a strong foundation for furthering their soccer skills has been the focus for the first half of the season. The hard work and determination of the children have paid off as we enter the second half of the season with 2 wins and 1 loss. Watching the team come together, support and encourage one another, and become a cohesive team has been an incredible experience and I’m so glad we get to play together in person this year and have these moments as a team!
